Job Description:

Under general supervision, performs routine, complex or specialized laboratory testing which will aid in the diagnosis and evaluation of the treatment of diseases while maintaining the highest standards of medical technology. They must maintain the highest standards of any and all accrediting agencies. Perform related quality control and clerical work as required.

Responsibilities:

• Effectively uses laboratory equipment.
• Performs and reports testing on patient specimens and OC specimens rapidly and without delay.
• Demonstrates competence in performing testing procedures.

Requirements:

To be qualified for a Medical Lab Tech:

• 1 year of related work experience preferred
• Associates Degree or completion of a U.S. Military 50-week course leading to specialty of Medical Laboratory Specialist or equivalent role and ASCP MLT certification or equivalent, OR Bachelors Degree in a Science field with applicable clinical experience.
• MLT with ASCP, AMT, or equivalent certification required within 6 months of hire

To be qualified for a Medical Tech:

• 1 year related work experience preferred
• MLS with ASCP certification, or MT/MLT with ASCP, AMT, or equivalent certification, or specialty ASCP certification in the assigned department required within 6 months of hire
• Associate's Degree Required
• Bachelor's Degree Preferred
