Job Description:

We are currently in need of an analytical RN - Internal Radiology to join our team of medical professionals. As a registered radiologist nurse, you will use your skills and various medical imaging techniques to produce visual representations of specific areas of the human body to diagnose medical problems and monitor treatment.

Our ideal candidate for the RN - Internal Radiology position must provide exceptional patient care, autonomous practice, and teamwork. We are seeking an internal radiologist who is eager and excited to work with cutting edge technologies and procedures. 

To be a successful Internal Radiology registered nurse, you must be able to use medical imaging technologies, such as X-rays, CT scans, ultrasounds, and MRIs. Likewise, you must be able to successfully execute and interpret the medical images to aid the diagnostic and treatment process. On top of that, you will need to be confident, independent, and team-oriented nurse.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate the medical histories of patients to ensure the various medical imaging procedures will not harm them.
• Suggest alternative medical imaging techniques, when necessary.
• Inform patients about the medical imaging process.
• Use devices such as computer tomography (CT) scanners and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machines.
• Perform or direct radiology staff to carry out image-guided, diagnostic procedures.
• Work with radiology lab technicians to perfect image quality.
• Interpret the results from diagnostic imaging procedures to determine diagnoses.
• Communicate and discuss results and diagnoses with physicians.
• Compile written reports of results and diagnoses.
• Follow medical protocols for resuscitation, bleeding, infection, or other emergency situations, when necessary.

Requirements:

• RN License required; Current state nursing licenses or RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact,
• Colorado Only: RNs working in Colorado under a multi-state license must obtain their CO RN license within 30 days of establishing residency, i.e., drivers license, register to vote, etc. Compact to Compact. Upon issuance of a new multistate license, the former license is inactivated. For more information visit Colorado Board of Nursing - Compact Licensure
• Nursing Diploma or Associates Degree in Nursing required; Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred
• At least one year of Interventional Radiology (IR) RN, Cath Lab or critical care (ICU or ED) RN experience required
• BLS from the American Heart Association required
• ACLS from the American Heart Association required within six months of hire or transfer
• Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty
