Job Description:

Performs various patient care activities in the GI Lab/Minor Procedure department under the supervision of a physician and nurse. Assists physicians and nurses with cases and daily functions of the department. May assist with medical procedures. Ensures that all equipment is clean and functioning properly. Prepares room for procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Performs technical skills through education & expertise.
• Documents & communicates data in concise manner.
• Attendance and being on time, ready to work your scheduled hours is an essential job functions
• Will be directly assisting Doctors/ nurses in procedures.
• Responsible for set up and break downs of rooms each day, stocking, assisting on unit making beds etc when have down time from the procedure rooms.
• Reprocessing of the scopes is a mandatory part of the role. Very long-standing hours in the procedure rooms, a lot of bending and moving/ lifting throughout the day

Requirements:

• One year of related experience
• Basic computer skills
• High School/G.E.D. required
• Completion of a medical/clinical vocational training or certification preferred, i.e. CNA, LPN, Medical Assistant, etc.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association required
