SHIFT: Days, Rotating Weekends

JOB TYPE: Full-Time Permanent

$30K Sign On Bonus and $5K Relocation Bonus if applicable

Job Summary:

The GI Endoscopy Registered Nurse assumes responsibility for assessing, diagnosing, identifying outcomes, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care of patients. Additionally, the GI Endoscopy Registered Nurse role includes directing and supervising nursing care for patients in the gastroenterology setting.

The Staff Registered Nurse, Endoscopy, must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for his/her patients, and may function in the role of charge nurse. 

Responsibilities:

·      Answering patient questions and addressing their concerns.

·      Observing patient vital signs.

·      Sedating patients before procedures.

·      Recovering patients after procedures.

·      Administering the necessary medication to patients.

·      Keeping the patient informed throughout the duration of the procedure.

·      Completing all necessary documentation including patient notes and discharge documents.

·      Preparing the instruments, equipment, and supplies for the procedure.

·      Cleaning and sterilizing equipment before use.

·      Provide assistance to doctors throughout the procedure.

·      Administering IV drips.

Requirements:

·      Active RN license within the State of practice.

·      Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Nursing - BSN preferred.

·      Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association.

·      ACLS required.

·      Minimum one (1) year Endoscopy/DaySurgery/PACU or Critical Care/Emergency Department experience required.
