Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Skilled Nursing Administrator to organize and oversee all facility programs and activities. You will create a collaborative and efficient workplace with attention to quality standards and policies where all personnel will be able to do their best in caring for patients.


  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the facility’s programs and activities. Review policies and procedures that govern the operation of the facility.
  • Meet with department directors to discuss use of departmental policies and procedures and establish a rapport in and among departments so that each can realize the importance of teamwork.
  • Interpret the facility’s policies and procedures to employees, residents, family members, visitors as necessary.
  • Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the facility.
  • Make routine inspections of the facility to assure that established policies and procedures are being implemented and followed.
  • Assure that an adequate number of appropriately trained professional and auxiliary personnel are on duty at all times to meet the needs of the residents.
  • Serve as liaison to the Chief Nursing Officer, medical staff, and supervisory staff.
  • Delegate administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability to other staff personnel as deemed necessary to perform their assigned duties.
  • Assist in the planning, conducting, and scheduling of in-service training classes, on-the-job training and orientation programs to assure that current material and programs are continuously provided.
  • Assure that personnel attend and participate in a Hazardous Communication and Universal Precautions Training Program in accordance with current OSHA and CDC guidelines.
  • Assure that the facility is maintained in a clean and safe manner for resident comfort and convenience.
  • Assist in the maintenance of an adequate accounting system that reflects the operating cost of the facility.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all resident information compliant with HIPAA standards and serve as the facility’s Privacy Liaison.
  • Assure that all residents receive care in a manner and in an environment that maintains or enhances their quality of life without abridging the safety and rights of other residents.
  • Assure the facility remains compliant with all federal, state, and local laws, and serve as the facility’s Corporate Compliance liaison for compliance issues.

  • Nurse Home Administrator license required.
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in state of practice preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required – Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Three (3) years of experience in Skilled Nursing Management required. 
  • Must have and maintain current BLS and CPR AED certification.
  • Food Handler Certification
  • Fingerprint Clearance Card required.
  • Understanding of basic budgeting and financial reporting.
  • Great knowledge of legal regulations and best practices in healthcare.
  • Willingness to keep abreast of changing standards in nursing administration.
  • Excellent ability to lead and develop personnel.
  • Great communication and people skills.
  • Outstanding organizational and management skills.
  • Aptitude in problem-solving.
