Job Description:
We are in search of a Staff Development Coordinator (SDC) to join our great healthcare team that will join us to make a difference for our staff, patients and in our community. The Staff Development Coordinator (SDC) develops and implements job skills training, in-service education, orientation, and onboarding for new staff. The purpose of the role is to assure our facility is a great place to work and receive care by making certain our staff are welcomed, competent, and supported in their development. Our SDC is a key contributor to workplace culture, promoting and upholding our organizational values.
Responsibilities:
· Identify and participate in process improvement initiatives that improve the customer experience, enhance workflow, and/or improve the work environment.
· Work cooperatively with the Administrator and Director of Nursing in assessing educational needs and plan programs to meet needs and regulatory requirements.
· Monitor certification and license status and renewals.
· Conduct new hire orientation.

Requirements:
· Current RN license in the state of practice
· Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
· One (1) year experience as an In-service Director or Staff Development Coordinator.
· Minimum three (3) years of clinical experience in a health care setting; long-term care setting preferred.
· Must have a current CPR certification.
· Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care.
· Effective verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability to communicate at all levels of organization and work well within a team environment in support of company objectives.
· Customer service oriented with the ability to work well under pressure.
· Candidates will be required to show proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 upon commencing employment.
