Job Description:
We are currently in need of an experienced OBGYN Technician to assist doctors and nurses during labor and delivery procedures. An OB Tech performs a variety of patient care and clerical duties to assist and support the organization and function of the Labor/Delivery/Recovery/Postpartum (LDRP). These include providing assistance during vaginal deliveries, sterilizing equipment, keeping records, and examining patients.
As an OB Tech, you are expected to work with and under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will be responsible for performing both clerical and nursing duties for patients of all ages, within the parameters of the policies of the OB unit. You will interact with physicians, patients, family members, hospital staff, and community agencies in providing basic care. Aside from these, it is also part of your responsibility as an obstetric technician to ensure the cleanliness of the labor and delivery wards.
Our ideal OB Tech candidate will help in ensuring the efficiency in labor and delivery wards by keeping rooms prepared and monitoring patient health. You need to have a basic understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terms, particularly those related to female anatomy.
