Job Description:


Under the direction of the Administrative Director of Imaging and Physical Therapy, Radiology Director, and in consultation with the Medical Director, the Radiology Tech performs professional duties involved in a variety of technical procedures to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for Radiologic diagnosis, with latitude for independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative.


Responsibilities:


·            You will scrub in and assist the physician in the diagnostic or interventional procedure.

·            You will prep and circulate within the procedure room and procure all equipment needed for given procedure.

·            You will assess the patient for factors that may indicate or contraindicate the procedure, such as medications, insufficient patient preparation or artifacts.

·            You will verify clinical information according to departmental policies (Red Rules, Time out).

·            You will demonstrate a thorough understanding and working knowledge of normal anatomy, abnormal anatomy, and physiology, radiation safety, interventional supplies

and equipment operation.

·            You will recognize and resolve equipment operations, problems, and discrepancies, anticipate patient needs and concerns and determine the appropriate care needed.

·            You will administer intravascular contrast media and medication according to protocol.

·            You will document diagnostic and interventional treatment and patient data in the appropriate records. Documentation will be timely, accurate, concise and complete.

Requirements:


  • Must have and maintain current licensure as a Diagnostic Radiological Technologist in the state of practice.
  • Must have ARRT Certification in Radiography or obtain within 6 months of hire date.
  • Must have BLS Certification or obtain within orientation process.
  • Graduate of Accredited AMA Program with Certificate or Degree in Radiology
  • IV Certification is preferred.
  • One (1) year experience as a Radiological Tech required.
