Chief Dental Officer Needed for Community Health Center – 45 min from Las Cruces

Community Health Center located 45 minutes from Las Cruces seeking a Chief Dental Officer. The position is full time, Monday through Friday with benefits that include health insurance, eligibility for loan forgiveness, vacation and paid leave, holiday pay, CME time and allowance. They are offering relocation assistance and welcome J1/H1b visa candidates.

Responsibilities include:

• Designing, developing and implementing dental program policy and procedure.
• Serve on the dental staff and other center committees as assigned.
• Serve as Chair of the Dental Department's Peer Review Committee.
• Coordinate chart audits of all PVHC dental providers in accordance with state and Federal agencies.
• Assist in the provision of CE, on the job training and orientation of community health center staff as needed.
• Must be able to effectively educate patients and other providers on standards of care and best oral health practices while maintaining appropriate patient and provider autonomy.
• Examine patients, diagnose oral conditions, direct and carry out treatment.
• Take part in coordinating and integrating the organizations dental programs and services with other organization program's and services for the welfare of the organizations patients.

Requirements:

• DDS, DMD, or equivalent licensure attained from an accredited dental school.
• Five years of clinical/administrative experience preferred.
• Spanish speaking preferred but not required.
• Unrestricted license to practice dentistry in state of Texas
• Current CPR (BLS) Certification
• Texas DPS and DEA registration and ability to prescribe scheduled substances
• Nitrous Oxide certification
• Unrestricted ability to work with Medicare and Medicaid
• Must remain eligible for FTCA coverage
• Ability to maintain clinical privileges required.
