Dental Assistant Needed for Community Health Center, Charleston, SC area.

Great community health clinic with multiple locations in the Charleston, South Carolina area seeking Dental Assistant’s for their team. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 to 5:00 pm. You’ll work alongside a team of healthcare professionals who are passionate about serving the underserved and promote a wonderful work environment. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but NOT required. They’re offering a great salary, benefits which include dental, health and vision, PTO and more.


You can expect to perform a range of clinical and administrative duties to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the dental practice such as:

·        Assisting the dentist during dental procedures, such as preparing and sterilizing instruments, handing the dentist tools, and suctioning the patient's mouth.

·        Taking and developing dental X-rays.

·        Recording and maintaining accurate patient information and medical histories.

·        Preparing and maintaining dental equipment, including sterilization of instruments, and disinfecting the treatment rooms.

·        Educating patients on oral hygiene techniques and providing instructions on postoperative care.

·        Performing office administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and billing and insurance processing.

·        Assisting with dental laboratory procedures, such as making casts of teeth and fabricating temporary crowns.

·        Ordering and maintaining dental supplies and equipment inventory.

·        Ensuring that the dental practice adheres to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines and other safety regulations.


Requirements:

·        A graduate from a CODA-accredited dental assisting program and at least two years of experience working as a chairside dental assistant.

·        Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·        Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail and manual dexterity.

·        Must possess knowledge of dental terminology, basic anatomy, and dental materials.

·        Ability to work well under pressure, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and maintain a professional demeanor.
