Job Description:

We are looking to hire a professional and energetic Technical Director of Respiratory Therapy to be responsible for ensuring that respiratory therapy services are delivered in accordance with best practices and standards of care. This role involves managing the technical aspects of respiratory therapy services, including equipment, supplies, and technology, as well as overseeing the work of respiratory therapists.

Responsibilities:

·        Developing and implementing policies and procedures for respiratory therapy services that are in compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.

·        Ensuring that respiratory therapy equipment, supplies, and technology are properly maintained and updated to support the delivery of high-quality care.

·        Overseeing the work of respiratory therapists, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.

·        Conducting quality assurance activities to monitor the quality and effectiveness of respiratory therapy services.

·        Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and administrators, to ensure that respiratory therapy services are integrated with other aspects of patient care.

·        Participating in strategic planning and budgeting activities to ensure that respiratory therapy services are aligned with the organization's goals and priorities.

·        Providing clinical leadership and expertise to respiratory therapists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.

·        Staying up-to-date with advances in respiratory therapy technology and research, and incorporating new knowledge into practice as appropriate.

Requirements:

·        Master’s degree in respiratory therapy from an approved accredited Respiratory Care Program required.

·        Active Respiratory Therapist license within state of practice.

·        Five (5) plus years of experience as a respiratory therapist, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.

·        Member of the American Association of Respiratory Care required.

·        Must be credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).

·        BLS, ACLS, NRP and PALS certification (through American Heart Association) required.

·        Excellent knowledge of respiratory therapy equipment, supplies, and technology, as well as best practices and standards of care.

·        Strong leadership and management skills, including the ability to manage and develop staff, and to build and maintain effective teams.

·        Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

·        Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

·        Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
