Job Description:

An outpatient physical therapy assistant works under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist and assists in providing physical therapy services to patients who are recovering from injuries, illnesses, or surgeries on an outpatient basis.

The primary responsibility of an outpatient physical therapy assistant is to help patients regain their physical strength, mobility, and independence through exercises, stretches, and other physical therapy techniques. They may work with patients of all ages and conditions, including those with musculoskeletal injuries, neurological disorders, or chronic conditions.

• Assisting the physical therapist in developing and implementing treatment plans for patients
• Administering exercises and stretches to patients
• Providing hands-on therapy to patients, such as massage or joint mobilization
• Monitoring and recording patient progress and adjusting treatment plans as necessary
• Instructing patients in proper use of equipment and home exercises
• Assisting with patient education and documentation of treatment plans
• Communicating with other healthcare professionals involved in the patient's care

Requirements:

• Associate degree in a Physical Therapy Assistant program (PTA) required.
• PTA License in the State of CA required.
• New grads welcome but one (1) year experience preferred.
• BLS Certification required.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
