Job Description:

We are seeking a passionate and qualified Speech-Language Pathologist to join our school-based team. As a School-based Speech-Language Pathologist, you will play a vital role in supporting the communication and language development needs of students. Your primary responsibility will be to assess, diagnose, and provide intervention for speech and language disorders in a school setting.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate students' speech and language skills, including articulation, language comprehension, expressive language, fluency, and social communication abilities.
  2. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other members of the multidisciplinary team to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with speech and language disorders. Set appropriate goals and objectives based on assessment findings and the unique needs of each student.
  3. Provide direct therapy services to students with speech and language disorders, using evidence-based techniques and interventions. This may include individual or group therapy sessions, as well as consultation with teachers to support the integration of speech and language strategies into the classroom environment.
  4. Monitor and track students' progress towards their goals, regularly assessing and documenting their performance. Adjust therapy plans and techniques as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
  5. Collaborate with other professionals, such as occupational therapists and psychologists, to provide a comprehensive approach to supporting students' overall development and educational success.
  6. Provide guidance and support to teachers, parents, and other staff members regarding strategies and accommodations to facilitate effective communication for students with speech and language needs.
  7. Stay current with research and developments in the field of speech-language pathology, attending professional development opportunities and participating in ongoing training to enhance your knowledge and skills.


Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) or eligibility for clinical fellowship (CFY).
  • State licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Experience working with school-aged children, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Knowledge of various speech and language disorders and their treatment approaches.
  • Strong assessment and diagnostic skills to accurately identify students' communication needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and other team members.
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized intervention plans based on students' unique needs.
  • Organizational and time management skills to effectively handle caseloads and documentation requirements.
