Job Summary:
We are looking to hire a passionate and professional Director of Pediatrics to be responsible for overseeing and managing our pediatrics department. The Director plays a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality pediatric care, implementing strategic initiatives, and maintaining regulatory compliance. This position requires a strong combination of clinical expertise, leadership skills, and business acumen.
Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Strategic Planning:
- Provide visionary leadership to the pediatrics department, setting strategic goals and objectives aligned with the overall organizational mission and values.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance the quality of pediatric care, patient experience, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with other department heads and executive leadership to integrate pediatric services with other areas of the organization.
- Operational Management:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the pediatrics department, including staffing, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures related to pediatric care.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate departmental performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes.
- Clinical Excellence:
- Maintain a deep understanding of current best practices, research, and advancements in pediatric medicine, and ensure their integration into clinical protocols and practice.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning, professional development, and evidence-based practice among pediatric staff.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to promote interdisciplinary teamwork and optimize patient outcomes.
- Quality Assurance and Patient Safety:
- Develop and implement quality assurance programs to monitor and improve the quality of care provided by the pediatrics department.
- Ensure compliance with patient safety standards, identify and mitigate potential risks, and promote a culture of safety among staff.
- Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions in response to adverse events or quality concerns.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including physicians, staff, patients, families, community organizations, and regulatory bodies.
- Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to promote pediatric services and initiatives within the community.
- Represent the organization in relevant pediatric forums, conferences, and professional associations.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited school or nursing required.
- Active Registered Nurse license within state of practice required.
- Must have NICU, PICU or Pediatrics experience.
- Three (3) years’ experience as Supervisor or Management role required.
- In-depth knowledge of pediatric clinical practices, procedures, and protocols.
- Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and quality improvement methodologies.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills.
- Ability to think strategically, analyze complex problems, and make data-driven decisions.
- Demonstrated experience in process improvement, change management, and project management.
- Proficient in using healthcare information systems and technology.
- Dedication to patient-centered care, compassion, and empathy.
