Job Summary:

Are you a skilled and experienced leader in the field of engineering and facility management We are currently seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as the Manager of Hospital Facilities in our Engineering Department. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and improvement of our hospital's infrastructure and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise a team of engineers, technicians, and support staff in the Engineering Department, ensuring efficient operation and high-quality service delivery.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance programs for all hospital facilities, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other critical systems.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential issues, prioritize maintenance tasks, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards and safety guidelines.
  • Coordinate and oversee contractors, vendors, and service providers involved in facility maintenance and construction projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as Facilities Management, Administration, and Clinical Services, to assess and address facility-related needs and ensure smooth operations throughout the hospital.
  • Prepare and manage the departmental budget, including cost estimation, procurement of equipment and supplies, and tracking of expenses.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in facility management and engineering to propose and implement innovative solutions that improve efficiency and sustainability.
  • Foster a culture of safety, professionalism, and continuous improvement within the Engineering Department, promoting a positive work environment and providing ongoing training and development opportunities for team members.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Five (5) years’ experience in facility management, engineering, or a similar leadership role, in a hospital or healthcare setting required.
  • Certified as a Healthcare Facilities Manager is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage a diverse team and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Solid project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, allocate resources, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in using computer-aided design (CAD) software, facility management systems, and other relevant tools.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving facility-related issues.
  • Knowledge of environmental sustainability practices and energy management is desirable.
