Job Description:

We are looking for a dedicated, passionate, and caring RN - NICU nurse to become a part of our medical team. It takes a special person to become a nurse, but that is especially true for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) nurses.

You will provide round-the-clock care for ill and premature newborn infants and their families. Aside from this, your responsibility as an RN - NICU nurse includes attending to the basic needs of infants, such as feeding and changing their diapers. Likewise, you will coordinate their medical treatments with the NICU physician. As a NICU nurse, you are also expected to offer support and comfort to ill and premature newborns, as well as their parents and the rest of their family.

To become a successful RN - NICU nurse, you must possess an emphatic and caring nature. You also have to work well under pressure in a stressful environment, coordinate treatments, and work together with our neonatal healthcare team of professionals. On top of that, you should have extensive knowledge of the complex equipment in the NICU used to treat high-risk newborns.



Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and individualized care to severely ill and premature newborn infants round-the-clock by applying scientific nursing principles and processes.
  • Collaborate with the families of patients and our NICU healthcare professionals to ensure efficient implementation of patient care to achieve desired patient outcomes.
  • Provide hands-on care, monitoring, and feeding of the babies.
  • Perform medical procedures, such as conducting tests, administering medications, and inserting intravenous lines.
  • Use and adjust specialized NICU medical equipment.
  • Assist NICU physicians in administering medical treatments and procedures.
  • Formulate nursing plans and assess the efficacy of treatments.
  • Work intimately with parents who are going through an emotional experience with their newborns.
  • Offer comfort and support to parents and families to help them get through these trying times.
  • Educate families on the at-home care of their newborn infants

Requirements:

Graduate of an accredited diploma, associates, or baccalaureate degree nursing program.

  • If you have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and/or certification in your specialty area you will be considered more highly qualified and eligible for our RN III or IV positions.
  • Current RN License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire date)
  • Current American Heart Association BLS Certification
