Job Summary:


We are seeking a professional Cardiac Sonographer to join our team that will use ultrasound technology to create images of the heart and cardiovascular system. The Sonographer will work with physicians, cardiologists, and other medical professionals to diagnose and monitor heart conditions in patients in a Primary Care work setting. You will be responsible for performing and analyzing ultrasound scans, ensuring high-quality imaging and interpreting results to identify any abnormalities or irregularities. The role requires a high level of technical expertise, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.


Responsibilities:


  • Conduct echocardiography procedures to capture images of the heart and cardiovascular system, including M-mode, 2D, Doppler, and color flow imaging. 
  • Operate ultrasound equipment and ensure its proper maintenance and calibration. 
  • Record and analyze echocardiographic data and prepare detailed reports for physicians and other medical professionals. 
  • Interpret echocardiography results to identify any cardiac abnormalities, including valvular disease, structural abnormalities, and other conditions. 
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to plan and implement appropriate patient care and treatment. 
  • Educate patients about echocardiography procedures and provide emotional support as needed. 
  • Maintain accurate patient records and comply with relevant regulations and standards. 
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to stay up to date with new technologies and techniques in echocardiography.

Requirements:


  • Associate degree in Cardiovascular Technology or Ultrasound Technology – Bachelor’s degree preferred. 
  • Hold a certification in ultrasound in one or more of the following registry:
  • Echocardiography: ARDMS – RDCS or CCI – ACS or RCS;
  • General Ultrasound: ARDMS – (AB), (OB/GYN), (BR) or ARRT - RT(RDMS) and/or;
  • Vascular Ultrasound: ARDMS – RVT (VT), ARRT – RT (VS), or CCI – RVS.
  • Have 2 or more years of experience as a Cardiac sonographer.
  • Strong knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, and disease processes. 
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and patients. 
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of technical expertise and proficiency in operating ultrasound equipment. 
  • Ability to maintain accurate and complete patient records and comply with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Are able to lift equipment and/or assist patients onto the exam table as needed.
