Job Description:

We are currently seeking dedicated and caring individuals to join our team as Doulas. If you are passionate about assisting women during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period, we invite you to apply and make a meaningful impact on the lives of mothers and families.

As a Doula, you will play a vital role in providing emotional, physical, and informational support to expectant mothers before, during, and after childbirth. Your primary goal will be to empower mothers to have a positive birthing experience and provide them with the guidance and encouragement they need to navigate the challenges of pregnancy and early motherhood.

 

Responsibilities:

·      Offer emotional support to expectant mothers and their partners, creating a comforting and reassuring atmosphere during labor and childbirth.

·      Provide physical comfort techniques such as massage, positioning, and relaxation exercises to help manage pain and discomfort during labor.

·      Advocate for the mother's wishes and birth plan, ensuring her voice is heard and her choices are respected by medical professionals.

·      Educate mothers and their families about childbirth options, the labor process, and postpartum care.

·      Maintain open and effective communication with healthcare providers and the birthing team, ensuring a collaborative approach to care.

·      Offer postpartum support, including breastfeeding guidance, newborn care, and emotional support for the new mother and family.

·      Maintain accurate records of support provided and client interactions.

Requirements:

·      Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field required.

·      Two (2) plus years of clinical experience in a high-risk Obstetric unit.

·      Labor & delivery, high-risk obstetrics, antepartum, postpartum, and newborn nursery experience required.

·      Certification as a Doula or completion of a Doula training program preferred.

·      Extensive childbirth experience and pre-and post-natal care.

·      Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

·      Empathetic and compassionate nature.

·      Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

·      Non-judgmental and respectful attitude toward diverse birthing choices and cultural backgrounds.
