Job Summary:

As a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse at our facility, you will play a pivotal role in providing exceptional care to a diverse patient population. You will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care within the medical-surgical unit. Your dedication to patient well-being and your clinical expertise will make a meaningful impact on the lives of our patients.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Patient Care: Deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care to individuals admitted to the medical-surgical unit, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout their hospital stay.
  2. Assessment: Perform thorough patient assessments, including health history reviews and physical examinations, to develop individualized care plans.
  3. Medication Administration: Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed, ensuring accurate dosing and monitoring for adverse reactions.
  4. Documentation: Maintain detailed electronic health records, including assessments, care plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries, in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.
  5. Collaboration: Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team, including physicians, nurse practitioners, and ancillary staff, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
  6. Patient Education: Provide patients and their families with education and support regarding their medical conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care instructions.
  7. Safety: Adhere to infection control protocols, safety guidelines, and ethical standards to maintain a safe and healing environment.
  8. Critical Thinking: Utilize critical thinking skills to assess complex patient situations, make informed decisions, and respond effectively to emergencies.


Required Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program
  • California Registered Nurse License upon hire
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire
  • Institutes of Health Stroke Scale Certificate - NIH Stroke Scale Training Course within 90 days of hire
  • 1 year of nursing experience
