Job Description:

Are you passionate about making a difference in the field of healthcare Do you have a strong background in infectious diseases and want to contribute to the well-being of patients We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled and dedicated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant specializing in Infectious Disease to join our dynamic healthcare team.

As a Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant specializing in Infectious Disease, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing, treating, and managing patients with infectious conditions. You will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients, ensuring their well-being and promoting a positive patient experience.



Responsibilities:

  • Conduct patient assessments, including taking medical histories, performing physical examinations, and ordering diagnostic tests to evaluate and diagnose infectious diseases.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs, medical history, and laboratory results.
  • Prescribe and administer appropriate medications, antibiotics, and other therapies as required, following established protocols and guidelines.
  • Perform procedures such as wound care, incision and drainage, and suture removal.
  • Educate patients and their families on infectious disease prevention, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Monitor patients' progress, evaluate response to treatment, and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement infection control protocols and guidelines.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, meetings, and conferences to discuss patient cases, treatment plans, and research findings.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in infectious disease management and contribute to ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program or Certified Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Current and active licensure and credentialing as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner within State of practice.
  • Two (2) plus years of experience in infectious disease management required.
  • Registered with the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) for scheduled II-V Controlled Substances.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification required.
  • Strong knowledge of infectious disease diagnosis, treatment, and prevention strategies. 
  • Excellent clinical skills, including the ability to perform medical procedures with precision and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to establish rapport with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team-based healthcare environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to make sound clinical judgments.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and other relevant healthcare technologies.
