Job Title: Registered Nurse II - Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)


Sign-On Bonus: $10,000

Relocation Assistance: $10,000 (if 50+ miles away from the facility)

Job Objective:

The CVICU Registered Nurse II plays a pivotal role in providing direct patient care in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. Collaborating with patients, families, and the healthcare team, this nurse assesses patient needs, plans and implements care, and evaluates patient outcomes. The role requires leadership skills, commitment to professional growth, and the possibility of working at alternate sites.



Qualifications:

  • Education: BSN or MSN, or enrollment in an RN-BSN or RN-MSN program within 1 year of hire, completion within 5 years of hire (if hired after July 1, 2012)
  • Licensure/Certification: California RN licensure; American Heart Association BLS; Certified in a specialty practice area (preferred)
  • Experience: Experience in the area of specialty or higher acuity, or participation in an internship program/course (preferred)

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies.
  2. Utilizes age-specific data to assess the patient’s physical, psychosocial, and spiritual status comprehensively.
  3. Performs accurate assessments based on scientific facts and principles, ensuring documentation within organizational standards.
  4. Participates in multidisciplinary care planning to address patient needs and achieve optimal outcomes.
  5. Reviews and revises the plan of care based on changes in the patient’s status.
  6. Implements the plan of care, considering physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs.
  7. Utilizes the Relationship-Based Care Professional Practice Model in all interactions.
  8. Completes patient care assignments in compliance with established hospital policies and procedures.
  9. Prioritizes nursing interventions in line with patient needs.
  10. Utilizes effective verbal and written communication skills using the SBAR format.
  11. Provides patient education and discharge planning to promote optimal outcomes.
  12. Coordinates and documents discharge planning and referrals for continuity of care.
  13. Maintains commitment to professional development and clinical competency.
  14. Embraces change and identifies opportunities for improvement through evidence-based practice.
  15. Shares knowledge, acts as a professional resource, and supports Unit-Based Council initiatives.
  16. Contributes to the professional growth of peers through feedback, coaching, and evaluation.
  17. Strives to be a life-long learner by enrolling in classes and courses for new clinical knowledge.
  18. Complies with divisional and unit-specific matrices.
  19. Performs other duties as assigned.
