Job Title: Labor and Delivery Nurse - Nights

Job Objective:

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Labor and Delivery Nurse to join our dedicated maternity care team for night shifts. As a Night Shift Labor and Delivery Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care to expectant mothers during the overnight hours. Your expertise and commitment will contribute to positive birthing experiences and optimal outcomes for both mothers and newborns.

Qualifications:

• Education: BSN preferred
• Licensure/Certification: Current state nursing license
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Provide compassionate and comprehensive nursing care to women during labor and delivery throughout the night shift, ensuring the well-being of both mother and baby.
2. Monitor fetal heart rates and uterine contractions, recognizing and responding to any deviations from the norm.
3. Assist with pain management strategies and comfort measures for laboring mothers.
4. Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to plan and implement patient care during the night hours.
5. Administer medications and intravenous fluids as prescribed, and monitor the progress of labor during the night shift.
6. Prepare and assist with various birthing procedures, including cesarean sections and instrumental deliveries, throughout the night.
7. Educate and support expectant mothers and their families regarding childbirth, breastfeeding, and postpartum care during night shifts.
8. Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and in a timely manner.
9. Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols during night shifts.
10. Participate in continuous education and training programs to stay current on advancements in obstetric care during the night hours.
11. Actively contribute to maintaining a positive and collaborative work environment during night shifts.
