Job Description: 

We are looking for a compassionate school therapist to work with our students, their families, and faculty members. The school therapist responsibilities include administering psychological evaluations, providing counseling, making diagnoses, and contributing to the development of learning programs. To be successful as a school therapist you should be able to successfully aid students in their personal and academic development. Ultimately, an outstanding School Therapist is compassionate and committed to students' well-being.



Responsibilities:

  • Listening to students' concerns about academic, emotional or social issues.
  • Providing individual and group counseling as appropriate.
  • Administering and evaluating psychological tests and preparing reports.
  • Helping students to process and overcome their problems.
  • Assisting students with the development of goals and action plans.
  • Engaging and counseling teachers, parents, and caregivers about issues.
  • Researching and implementing intervention programs.
  • Developing programs to address behavioral issues and learning difficulties.
  • Assess and diagnose students to determine eligibility for special services.
  • Participate in continuing professional development.

Requirements:

•       Current MA LICSW, LMHC, LMFT, or Psy.D license required.

•       School-based health experience preferred.

•       Demonstrated strong communication skills with individuals and/or groups.

•       Strong analytical, problem-solving, planning, and prioritization skills.

•       Experience preferred in Electronic Health Records and Microsoft Office.

•       Experience using telehealth platforms.

•       Self-motivated and self-directed to work within a team and work independently.

•       Ability to maintain CEUs as required by the state.

•       Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.

•       Bilingual Spanish/Portuguese preferred.

•       Reliable transportation.
