Job Description:

We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Patient Safety & Risk Management to lead our efforts in ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients.

As the Director of Patient Safety & Risk Management, you will be a key leader in our commitment to patient safety and quality improvement. You will oversee and drive initiatives to identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with patient care, while also promoting a culture of continuous improvement and patient safety throughout the organization.

 

Responsibilities:

·        Develop and implement a comprehensive patient safety and risk management program.

·        Lead and mentor a team of professionals in the patient safety and risk management department.

·        Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to identify and analyze potential risks and patient safety issues.

·        Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to patient safety and risk management.

·        Investigate adverse events, near misses, and complaints, and develop strategies to prevent recurrence.

·        Develop and implement policies and procedures related to patient safety and risk management.

·        Provide education and training to staff on best practices for patient safety.

·        Collaborate with legal and compliance teams on risk assessment and mitigation strategies.

·        Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation requirements related to patient safety.

Requirements:



    Certification in Patient Safety (CPPS) required; If not already CPPS, must obtain certification within 12 months of hire.

·        Maintain CPPS while in role 

·   Associate or Bachelors Degree in nursing required. Masters degree preferred.

·        Three to five years manager/director level Healthcare experience in patient safety, risk, and/or quality required.

        Certification in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) preferred.

·       

·        In-depth knowledge of patient safety principles, regulations, and best practices.

·        Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

·        Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

·        Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with cross-functional teams.

·        Dedication to promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement in healthcare.
