Job Summary: 

We are in search of a professional Athletic Trainer proficient with communication and counseling skills. The ideal candidate should have superb interpersonal abilities, with excellent judgment skills and listening skills. To ensure success, the Athletic Trainer candidates should be critical thinkers with the ability to work with high school students. Candidates should have incredible problem-solving skills, exhibit confidence when instructing injured athletes, and have the ability to closely monitor students.

Responsibilities:

• Use manual techniques to prevent and treat muscular and skeletal conditions.
• Provide athletes with education and counseling related to their injury.
• Implement mental strategies that enable athletes to cope with and overcome setbacks or injuries.
• Inform coaches on the medical condition of athletes.
• Supervise the entire rehabilitation process.
• Maintain the highest regard for student dignity

Requirements:

• College graduate with BS, MS, or MA degree from a CAATE accredited program. 
• One year of experience as a high school or collegiate certified athletic trainer preferred.
• Current certification through the Board of Certification Inc. and licensed by the NC Board of Athletic 

  Trainer Examiners and/or SC State Certification. Non primary state License/Certification within 90 

  days. 

•  Completion of American Heart Association Healthcare Provider or American Red Cross which includes CPR and AED training. 
• Excellent communication, listening, compassion, and organizational skills.
• Strategize & assist athletes in overcoming difficulties, improving performance, and preparing for competition.
• Counsel focusing on goal setting, visualization, and relaxation.
• Thorough understanding of sports culture and the ability to display sound judgment.
• Equip athletes with mental strategies to cope with and overcome setbacks or injuries.
