POSITION TYPE: Registered Nurse (RN) - Administrative Director

LOCATION: Kansas City, MO

SHIFT: No Weekends

JOB TYPE: Full-Time Permanent

Position Summary:

We are in looking to hire a professional Administrative Director to work in several departments of our hospital. This position is broad in scope and functions within a matrix reporting structure.  The role includes programmatic responsibilities in Nursing and Operations. You will work with the CNO council from a strategic planning aspect to develop, monitor and revise functional processes as needed. Coordinates a cohesive approach to executing clinical strategies and patient care across the facility organization, including performance excellence and quality outcomes. Works collaboratively with clinical leadership to standardize nursing practice to deliver high quality clinical care, incorporating research and teaching activities. 


  • Accurately identify real/potential problems affecting the service and implement solutions with follow through and communication.
  • Coach subordinates and provide feedback; constructive critique of work; facilitates individual development plan; and documents their job performance.
  • Adhere to all Human Resource policies.
  • Effectively build strong relationships and networks to deliver upon organizational and department goals.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate an ongoing program which assures quality patient care consistent with the hospital mission.
  • Responsible for department's operational excellence; ensures department delivers quality services in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and professional standards.
  • Search out new program strategies and/or program enhancements which would expand patient services.
  • Responsible for the fiscal management of department; assures proper utilization of organization's financial resources.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Active RN license within the State of practice.
  • Master's degree in Health Administration required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing required.
  • Five (5) years of progressive management experience in a hospital environment as an Associate Chief Nursing Officer or Nursing director of multiple nursing departments. 
  • NEA-BC, NE-BC Certification preferred.
