Job Overview:

We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Inpatient Physical Therapist Assistant to join our healthcare team. As an Inpatient Physical Therapist Assistant, you will work closely with licensed physical therapists to provide rehabilitative care to patients admitted to the hospital. Your role will involve assisting in the implementation of treatment plans, conducting exercises, and supporting patients in their journey toward improved physical function and well-being.


  • Patient Support and Care:
  • Assist in implementing physical therapy treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist.
  • Work directly with patients to facilitate therapeutic exercises, activities, and modalities as prescribed in the treatment plan.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient interventions, progress, and responses to treatment.
  • Communicate effectively with the healthcare team, providing updates on patient status and collaborating on patient care.
  • Assessment and Monitoring:
  • Assist in the assessment of patients' physical conditions, including mobility, strength, and range of motion.
  • Monitor patients during therapy sessions, noting any changes or concerns, and report them to the supervising physical therapist.
  • Patient Education:
  • Instruct and educate patients on therapeutic exercises and activities to be continued independently or with minimal assistance.
  • Provide support and guidance to patients and their families, promoting a positive and collaborative rehabilitation experience.
  • Collaboration with Healthcare Team:
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team, including physical therapists, nurses, and physicians, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute insights to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Equipment and Facility Management:
  • Assist in setting up and maintaining therapeutic equipment.
  • Ensure a clean and safe therapy environment, adhering to infection control protocols.


  • Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • State licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
  • Empathy and compassion for patients undergoing rehabilitation.
