Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated Assistant Pharmacy Manager to join our innovative, independent pharmacy in Sacramento. This position plays a key role in pharmacy operations, providing top-tier service by dispensing medications prescribed by providers, advising on drug selection, dosage, and interactions, and delivering patient services such as point-of-care testing, immunizations, and pharmacist-prescribed therapies.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Pharmacist-In-Charge (PIC) in managing day-to-day operations, including regulatory compliance, staff supervision, and inventory management.
- Review prescriptions for accuracy and suitability, and provide information on drug interactions, side effects, and proper usage.
- Oversee compounding and dispensing of medications, ensuring adherence to legal and quality standards.
- Maintain pharmacy records, including patient profiles, inventories, and controlled substance logs.
- Develop and implement procedures for the safe mixing, packaging, and labeling of medications.
- Offer specialized patient services, including management of chronic conditions such as diabetes, asthma, hypertension, and HIV prevention, as well as travel health advice.
- Conduct point-of-care testing, interpret results, and prescribe treatments under California law and a collaborative practice agreement.
- Administer immunizations and other therapeutic injections.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to evaluate treatment plans and ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Assist in the hiring, training, and management of pharmacy staff, including technicians and interns.

Strong communication skills and teamwork are essential, as is the ability to utilize both human and technological resources to meet company objectives.
Work Hours:
Store hours are Monday through Friday, 9 am - 6 pm, and Saturday, 9 am - 1 pm (closed on Sundays). Work schedules will vary between part-time and full-time positions and may include shifts outside of regular business hours for administrative tasks.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Supervise staff pharmacists, technicians, and clerks.
- Oversee inventory management and purchasing.
- Mentor pharmacy interns.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong patient service and communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of drug interactions, chemistry, and medical terminology.
- Attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
Education and Experience:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree
- Active California Pharmacist License
- CPR and Immunization Certification
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, and bend for prolonged periods.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
