Job Description:

As a physical therapist in a skilled nursing facility, your primary responsibility will be to evaluate and treat patients who have functional limitations or disabilities that are the result of injury, illness, or other medical conditions.

Your duties may include:

• Assessing patients' physical abilities, functional limitations, and overall health status to determine appropriate treatment plans.
• Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans to help patients improve their mobility, strength, balance, and coordination.
• Using various techniques and modalities, such as exercise, manual therapy, and assistive devices, to help patients achieve their treatment goals.
• Monitoring patients' progress and adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
• Educating patients and their families on proper techniques for performing exercises and other activities to maintain or improve their physical function.
• Working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, such as nurses, occupational therapists, and physicians, to ensure that patients receive comprehensive care.
• Documenting all patient assessments, treatment plans, and progress in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.

In addition to these core responsibilities, you may also be responsible for managing a caseload of patients, supervising physical therapy assistants, and participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the overall level of care provided at the facility.

Requirements:

• Degree in physical therapy from an accredited program and hold a valid license to practice physical therapy in the state of CA.
• Current BLS
• Prior experience working as a physical therapist in a clinical setting, preferably in a skilled nursing facility or other long-term care environment, preferred. Open to new grads.
• Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and other healthcare providers.
• Able to lift and move patients.
• Committed to upholding ethical standards, adhering to facility policies and regulations, and working collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team.
