Cardiac Sonographer - Echo Tech

JOB TYPE: Full-Time Permanent


Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Cardiac Sonographer to join our dedicated healthcare team. The Cardiac Sonographer will be responsible for performing high-quality echocardiograms to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular conditions. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent patient care abilities, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform echocardiograms, including transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiograms, stress echocardiograms, and other related ultrasound procedures.
  • Operate ultrasound equipment to obtain diagnostic images and measurements of the heart and cardiovascular system.
  • Analyze and interpret ultrasound data to provide accurate and detailed preliminary reports for physicians.
  • Prepare patients for procedures, explaining the process and answering any questions to ensure patient comfort and cooperation.
  • Maintain and calibrate ultrasound equipment to ensure optimal performance and image quality.
  • Collaborate with cardiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to discuss findings and provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Adhere to established protocols, procedures, and safety standards to ensure patient safety and the accuracy of diagnostic information.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, including detailed documentation of procedures and findings.
  • Stay current with advancements in cardiac sonography and participate in continuing education and training programs.


Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related field.
  • Current certification as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or equivalent through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
  • State licensure, if required.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Cardiac Sonographer preferred.
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
