Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced RN Quality/Safety Coordinator to join our team in Surgical Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating quality improvement and safety initiatives within our surgical services department. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our surgical procedures and patient care meet the highest standards of quality and safety

 

Responsibilities:

·      Quality Improvement: Develop, implement, and monitor quality improvement programs and initiatives within surgical services. Analyze performance data to identify areas for improvement.

·      Safety Coordination: Ensure compliance with safety protocols and standards. Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.

·      Policy Development: Develop and update policies and procedures related to surgical services quality and safety. Ensure staff are trained and compliant with these policies.

·      Data Management: Collect, analyze, and report on quality and safety data. Use this data to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

·      Staff Education: Provide education and training to surgical services staff on quality improvement and safety practices. Conduct regular in-service sessions and workshops.

·      Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and accreditation standards, including Joint Commission, OSHA, and state-specific requirements.

·      Patient Advocacy: Act as a liaison between patients, families, and surgical staff to address quality and safety concerns. Ensure patient feedback is incorporated into improvement plans.

·      Collaboration: Work closely with surgical services leadership, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to promote a culture of quality and safety.

Requirements:

·      Associate degree in nursing required, bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.

·      Current RN licensure in the state of practice.

·      Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience in surgical services, with a focus on quality and safety.

·      Previous experience in a quality/safety coordinator role preferred.

·      Laser/Safety Officer certification required within the first year of hire.

·      Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

·      Proficient in data analysis and performance improvement methodologies.
