Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pediatric Pharmacy Clinical Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing the pediatric pharmacy services, ensuring optimal medication therapy outcomes for pediatric patients. This role includes clinical, administrative, and supervisory responsibilities, requiring a deep understanding of pediatric pharmacotherapy, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to patient safety and quality care.

 

Responsibilities:

·        Oversee and manage clinical pharmacy services for pediatric patients, ensuring safe and effective medication therapy.

·        Collaborate with pediatric healthcare providers to optimize medication therapy and improve patient outcomes.

·        Conduct medication therapy management, including medication reviews, dosing adjustments, and monitoring for adverse effects.

·        Develop and implement evidence-based clinical protocols and guidelines.

·        Manage and supervise pediatric pharmacy staff, including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and support personnel.

·        Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards related to pediatric pharmacy services.

·        Participate in budget planning and management for the pediatric pharmacy department.

·        Monitor and improve medication use processes, including formulary management and medication safety initiatives.

·        Provide education and training to pharmacy staff, healthcare providers, and patients on pediatric pharmacotherapy.

·        Precept pharmacy students and residents, fostering their professional development.

·        Stay current with advancements in pediatric pharmacotherapy and incorporate new knowledge into practice.

·        Lead quality improvement projects aimed at enhancing medication safety and patient outcomes.

·        Collect and analyze data related to medication therapy outcomes and report findings to relevant stakeholders.

·        Implement strategies to reduce medication errors and improve overall patient care.

Requirements:

·        Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited college of pharmacy.

·        Completion of a PGY1 pharmacy residency; PGY2 pediatric pharmacy residency preferred.

·        Current pharmacist license within State of practice.

·        Board certification in Pediatric Pharmacy (BCPPS) preferred.

·        Three (3) plus years of clinical pharmacy experience in a pediatric setting.

·        Strong leadership and management skills.

·        Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

·        Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
