SHIFT: Day: M-F Days, 8am-5pm

JOB TYPE: Full-Time Permanent

Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Director of Pharmacy that will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of the pharmacy operations within our healthcare organization. You will be accountable for ensuring the safe, effective, and efficient use of medications in patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Actively communicate with medical, nursing, and other hospital staff.
• Participate in various committees such as Pharmacy and Therapeutics, Antimicrobial Stewardship, Opiate Stewardship, and Medication Safety.
• Delegate responsibilities appropriately and collaborate with healthcare professionals.
• Review and update policies and procedures to enhance pharmaceutical care.
• Prepare and monitor the annual budget.
• Forecast budget increases due to new therapeutic agents.
• Ensure departmental operations align with budgetary constraints.
• Handle staff performance evaluations, salary decisions, disciplinary actions, staffing schedules, and development.
• Maintain proper records as required by law and hospital policy (e.g., narcotic control, purchasing documents, quality assurance documents).
• Assist with various operational tasks within the pharmacy department.
• Coordinate inventory management and collaborate with Material Management for supply chain initiatives.

Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy.
• Active License or eligible for licensure in the state of Idaho.
• Minimum of five (5) years of hospital pharmacy experience, three (3) years minimum of which are director-level experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS).
