Role:

The Operating Room (OR) Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the surgical department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, and managing the surgical team’s activities. The OR Manager ensures compliance with health and safety regulations, maintains a smooth workflow, and collaborates with various hospital departments to optimize the efficiency of surgical services.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily operations of the operating room, ensuring all procedures are performed efficiently and safely.
• Manage and coordinate schedules for surgeons, nurses, and support staff to ensure adequate staffing and resource allocation.
• Implement and monitor infection control policies, health, and safety standards within the operating room.
• Collaborate with hospital administrators and other departments to streamline patient flow and optimize OR utilization.
• Ensure proper maintenance and readiness of surgical equipment and supplies.
• Provide leadership and training to OR staff, fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.

Minimum Qualifications:

.  Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Utah or Registered Nurse compact license from participating compact states.

·       American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.

·       CNOR required or obtained within 12 months of hire.

·       Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Masters Preferred

·       Two years of leadership clinical experience in a hospital operating room, trauma level experience is preferred – will NOT consider any Surgery Center Experience
