Job Description:
The Director, Acute Care Services, reporting directly to the Chief Nursing Officer, plays a pivotal role in managing and directing clinical staff within key units, including ICU/PCU, Medical/Surgical, and Rehab Nursing. This role carries full 24/7 responsibility for these units' operations, overseeing patient care quality, staff direction, and financial health.
As an integral member of the leadership team, the Director leads efforts to implement hospital philosophy, policies, and departmental goals, ensuring their effective impact on patient care. This leader serves as an expert, resource, and role model for clinical staff, facilitating a cohesive, multidisciplinary approach to patient care. The Director’s schedule will vary, supporting a flexible, team-oriented work environment.
Autonomy in decision-making and collaborative skills are crucial for this role, as the Director works alongside staff and senior management to uphold the company's mission, vision, and strategic objectives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a Nursing or eligible license in the state of Montana required.
- Master’s degrees in Nursing, Business, or Leadership/Management preferred.
- 5+ years’ experience as an Acute Care Clinical Leader required.
- Must have union experience.
- ACLS, ONS certification, Healthcare Provider BLS within 3 months of hire.
- Competency of RN for Med/Surg or ICU.
- 2+ years’ experience as a bedside RN preferred.
- Experienced as a Unit Level Director strongly preferred.
Other Requirements:
- Experience with a team with a variety of skill levels including new graduate RN’s.
- Exhibits pride of ownership and is customer focused, strategically oriented, demonstrates teamwork, and delegates appropriately.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Requires excellent written and oral communications, presentation, and computer/pc skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other related software.
- Demonstrated success with tabulating, collaborative work with physicians, project management and process improvement projects.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records.
