Registered Nurse Manager – CVOR

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and determined Nurse Manager to lead our Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) team. The ideal candidate will bring strong clinical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care in a high-acuity surgical environment. As the Nurse Manager of CVOR, you will oversee the daily operations, ensure high-quality clinical performance, and manage staff to maintain the best possible outcomes for cardiovascular surgical patients.



Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the CVOR nursing team, including scheduling, performance evaluations, and professional development.
  • Foster a collaborative, positive, and motivating work environment that promotes teamwork and high-quality care.
  • Act as a liaison between surgeons, anesthesiologists, nursing staff, and other departments to ensure smooth workflow and efficient patient care.
  • Oversee the delivery of nursing care in the CVOR, ensuring adherence to evidence-based practices and hospital protocols.
  • Monitor and improve clinical outcomes, patient safety, and overall quality of care.
  • Assist in complex cardiovascular procedures as needed, providing direct nursing care when required.
  • Manage the daily operations of the CVOR, including staff assignments, inventory management, and equipment readiness.
  • Collaborate with hospital administration and other departments on budget management, cost control, and resource allocation.
  • Implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, patient satisfaction, and surgical outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and accreditation requirements related to surgical services.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and protocols to optimize CVOR operations and maintain safety standards.
  • Lead quality assurance and process improvement initiatives within the department.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required, Master’s in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
  • Active RN license in State of practice.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of recent leadership or management role.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • CNOR or CCRN certification preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity surgical environment.
