Nuclear Medicine Technologist


Schedule: Full-Time, Day Shift (Monday-Friday, varied shifts)

Salary Range: $95,000 - $142,000



Position Summary:

Hospital is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will perform a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures, including:

  • Patient Preparation: Preparing patients for procedures, explaining the process, and addressing any concerns.
  • Image Acquisition: Operating and maintaining imaging equipment, ensuring optimal image quality.
  • Quality Assurance: Performing equipment quality control checks and calibrations.
  • Patient Care: Providing compassionate and professional care to patients of all ages.
  • Collaboration: Assisting radiologists during procedures and communicating effectively with other healthcare professionals.
  • Safety: Adhering to strict radiation safety protocols to minimize exposure to patients, staff, and the environment.


Essential Functions:

  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures according to established protocols.
  • Prepare and position patients for examinations, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Operate and maintain imaging equipment, including cameras, spectrometers, and related devices.
  • Analyze images for quality and completeness, ensuring accurate diagnoses.
  • Assist physicians during procedures as needed.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the work environment.
  • Participate in quality assurance programs and continuing education.
  • Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients, families, and colleagues.


Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program. Nuclear Medicine Technologist must be a graduate of an allied health education and accredited radiography school or equivalent
  • New York State Department of Health licensure required.
  • ARRT - NMTCB required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association required.
