Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, and passionate Director of Infection Prevention to lead and manage our organization’s infection prevention and control (IPC) program. The Director will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring strategies to prevent and reduce healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and fostering a culture of safety and excellence in patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee the infection prevention and control program, aligning with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
- Lead a multidisciplinary team in the identification, prevention, and mitigation of infection risks.
- Serve as the primary subject matter expert on infection prevention for staff, leadership, and external agencies.
- Design and implement evidence-based policies and procedures to prevent HAIs and ensure patient and staff safety.
- Monitor compliance with infection prevention protocols and recommend corrective actions as needed.
- Provide training and educational programs for staff on infection prevention best practices and compliance requirements.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement related to infection prevention.
- Oversee surveillance programs to monitor and analyze infection data, trends, and outcomes.
- Prepare and present infection prevention reports to leadership and regulatory bodies.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including standards from the CDC, OSHA, and The Joint Commission.
- Coordinate infection control audits and inspections, addressing any findings promptly.
- Lead investigations and responses to infection outbreaks, providing expertise to contain and mitigate risks.
- Collaborate with public health authorities and other stakeholders during infectious disease emergencies.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Microbiology, Public Health, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Certification in Infection Control (CIC) required.
- Minimum of 5+ years of recent leadership in Acute Care Infection Prevention.
- Strong knowledge of infection prevention principles, practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate teams in a fast-paced, complex healthcare environment.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
