Pharmacist Needed

POSITION TYPE: Healthcare Professional

SPECIALTY UNIT: Staff Pharmacist - Clinic

LOCATION: Summerville, SC

SHIFT: Day

JOB TYPE: Full-Time Permanent

Position Summary:

• Promotes the safe and effective use of medication for all patients through proper interpretation of physician orders, accurate dispensing of pharmaceuticals, and monitoring of therapy. 
• Provides accurate, adequate, and timely drug information to other healthcare providers. 
• Maintains and reviews patient profiles and makes recommendations to prescribes to ensure appropriateness of therapy and avoid drug interactions and adverse reactions. 
• Provides for appropriate inventories of approved medication for routine, emergency, and floor stock situations.

Skills:

• Effective verbal and written communication skills and advanced mathematical skills required. 
• Keyboarding skills are preferred (must be able to develop competence using pharmacy software). 
• Word processing skills are preferred. 
• Must be able to work with medical staff, nursing staff, and other healthcare employees.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or a Doctor of Pharmacy is required. 
• A Board of Pharmacy License in the state of practice is required. Continuous education to maintain licensure and certification(s), if any, is required.
• At least two years of experience as a licensed pharmacist is preferred.
• Ability to work rapidly throughout the shift under demanding workloads and stressful situations. 
• Hearing is sufficient for telephones and pagers, and vision is enough to read physician orders, requisitions, and reports. 
• Hand-to-eye coordination is sufficient for the aseptic technique.
