Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Director of Pharmacy that will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of the pharmacy operations within our healthcare organization. You will be accountable for ensuring the safe, effective, and efficient use of medications in patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for the pharmacy department that comply with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Manage pharmacy staff, including hiring, training, and scheduling of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all pharmacy-related regulations, policies, and procedures, including those related to medication safety, storage, labeling, and dispensing.
- Oversee the procurement and inventory management of medications and supplies.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure optimal medication therapy for patients.
- Provide drug information to healthcare providers and patients.
- Oversee medication utilization reviews and medication safety programs.
- Develop and manage the department budget.
- Serve as a member of the healthcare organization’s leadership team and participate in strategic planning and decision-making.
- Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
- Participate in professional organizations and conferences to network with peers and stay up to date on industry developments.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, and MS or PharmD. - Required
- Licensed as a Pharmacist in Michigan. - Required
- Three to five years of previous supervisory/administrative experience. - Required
- Strong knowledge in the 340B Program (please identify in your candidate's resume where applicable) - Required
- Strong professional, organizational, and interpersonal skills to effectively relate with all members of the healthcare team.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously when needed.
- Customer service focused.
- Able to develop positive relations with staff.
- Positively represents the practices both within and outside the organization.
- Exemplary attendance record.
- Computer literacy with Word, Excel and EMR (EPIC) - Required.
