Position

As the Nurse Educator/ADON, you will be responsible for assisting with management of overall quality clinical outcomes and education for the facility. This is achieved by working collaboratively with the Director of Nursing (DON), interdisciplinary teams, and assisting with supervisory and leadership tasks. Priority one will always be quality resident care and employee relations.  The role requires excellent organizational and communication skills, clinical knowledge, and leadership skills. The main responsibilities of the Nurse Educator include

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Educates all staff for compliance with DOH, CMS and other regulatory and/or accrediting bodies.

• Meets with staff and management regularly to ensure clinical and education initiatives and goals are met.

• Collaborates with DON and remains accountable for the operational and clinical performance and education of the Nursing Department.

• Assists with quality initiatives to ensure QAPI and Infection Control programs are followed.

• Assists with staffing and retention of Nursing team. 

• Communicates timely and accurately with employees and customers.  

• Coordinates and monitors staff education including compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory in-services; oversees the entire education plan and maintains documentation.

 The ideal candidate for the ADON position will have previous experience in a nursing leadership role, a strong ability to work and collaborate with a team, and an in-depth knowledge of managing and training nursing staff through implementation of quality improvement programs.  

JOB REQUIREMENTS

 Education and Experience:

•  BSN required; MSN preferred. 
• 3 years minimum nursing experience is required.
• 2 years or more years with staff development and training program experience.
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations pertaining to LTC facility required.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities as cited above will be considered.
