Registered Nurse | RN Clinical Coordinator - Maternal Child Health
Salary Range: $120,000 - $158,000
Department/Location: Maternal Child Health (Float/L&D/NICU/Mother-Baby)
Reports to: Director of Nursing
Under the direction of the Director of Nursing for Maternal Child Health (MCH), the Clinical Coordinator provides clinical leadership and support to ensure safe and efficient patient care through coordination and collaboration with staff and leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage patient throughput across all MCH units (L&D, NICU, and Mother-Baby).
- Monitor and optimize patient flow and efficiency metrics, ensuring adherence to hospital and regulatory standards, particularly on off shifts.
- Exercise critical thinking and independent problem-solving in diverse scenarios.
- Demonstrate exceptional customer service and collaborate effectively with all departments and physicians.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of MCH division operations.
- Support hospital throughput metrics and goals.
- Supervise patient-related and other services to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality care, collaborating with MCH leadership to address clinical and personnel issues on off shifts.
- Provide staff with clear explanations of hospital and nursing policies and procedures.
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels for assigned and subsequent shifts, collaborating with Nurse Managers and the Director of Nursing to schedule staff according to budget and department needs.
- Ensure compliance with state regulations and accreditation standards.
- Participate in educational programs to maintain current knowledge and expertise.
- Contribute to shared governance councils and task forces to support a positive work environment.
- Adhere to safety standards for employees and patients.
- Submit required work reports to the Nurse Manager/Division Administrator.
- Maintain effective communication with charge nurses/managers regarding admissions, transfers, and discharges.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current New York registration.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
- Current CPR, ACLS, and NRP certifications required.
- Minimum of three years of recent clinical nursing experience in Obstetrics.
