Market Director, Physician Services
LOCATION: Ottumwa, Iowa
JOB TYPE: Full-Time Permanent
The Ambulatory & Market Director oversees the operations and growth of assigned provider practices and clinics, reporting to the CEO and collaborating with leadership to drive strategy, financial performance, and operational efficiency. This role manages Clinic Administrators and Managers, ensuring clinic growth, provider engagement, and regulatory compliance.
Job Responsibilities:
- Leads operational strategy and daily management of designated clinic(s).
- Oversees key performance metrics, financial reviews, revenue cycle analysis, and practice growth initiatives.
- Maintains regular communication with providers, conducting biweekly and monthly meetings to address operational needs.
- Ensures accurate financial reporting, delivering monthly reports to providers and reviewing financial performance weekly.
- Attends Physician Services meetings, including weekly leadership meetings and annual strategic sessions.
- Develops and manages budgets, monitors financial performance, and implement action plans for variance corrections.
- Provides leadership, coaching, and performance management to Clinic Administrators and Managers, with ongoing communication.
- Drives operational efficiencies, including charge capture, accounts receivable oversight, and revenue optimization strategies.
- Supports new practice development, ensuring seamless operations and effective revenue growth.
- Manages support staff within assigned clinic(s). Responsible for performance reviews and other HR related matters.
- Ensures compliance with healthcare regulations and business office standards.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
Additional Information:
- Position serves both internal co-workers and external customers, clients, patients, contractors, and vendors.
- Access to and/or works with sensitive and/or confidential information.
- Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance (e.g., HIPAA). Skilled in the application of policies and procedures. Knowledge of Business Office Standards and Recommended Practices.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree, or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skill and abilities. Master’s Degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of leadership experience in physician practice management or a similar healthcare setting.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE) or FACMPE, preferred.
