Emergency Department Director – Level I Trauma Center

This Emergency Department sees approximately 80,000 annual visits and includes 56 ED beds and 84 total care spaces, including a 12-bed Pediatric ER that accounts for roughly 23% of the ED volume.
The patient population is diverse, with a high volume of behavioral health and cardiac/orthopedic emergencies.
Highlights of the Role:
- Oversee a dynamic ED team with ~130 FTEs, including:
- 3 ED Managers (one per shift)
- 6 Clinical Nurse Coordinators (CNCs)
- Significant support from a dedicated behavioral health pavilion (137 beds)
- Opportunity to drive continued excellence in quality metrics and patient outcomes
- Direct report to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO)
- Strong pipeline of new graduate nurses: 30+ hires this year
Candidate Profile:
- Experienced ED leaders with strong leadership in high-volume, urban ED settings
- Will consider exceptional ED Managers from large, fast-paced EDs
- Ideal candidates have a proven track record in team development, process improvement, and performance metrics
Compensation & Benefits:
- Base Salary: $140K – $185K (commensurate with leadership experience)
- Performance Bonus: Target 15% (up to 22.5%)

- Sign-on bonus considered on a case-by-case basis
