Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Sonographer to perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound imaging procedures. The Sonographer will be responsible for operating ultrasound equipment, capturing images for medical evaluation, and collaborating with physicians to assist in diagnosing various conditions. This role requires strong technical skills, patient care expertise, and knowledge of ultrasound protocols and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations in accordance with physician orders and facility protocols.
- Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring optimal image quality.
- Explain procedures to patients, ensuring their comfort and cooperation.
- Assess and analyze images for quality and accuracy, making necessary adjustments.
- Work closely with radiologists, physicians, and healthcare teams to provide accurate diagnostic information.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in electronic medical systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety and infection control protocols in the imaging department.
- Identify and report any abnormalities or concerns to the radiologist or ordering physician.
- Assist with interventional procedures as needed, following sterile techniques.
- Stay current with advancements in sonography technology and best practices.
What qualifications you will need:
· 3-6 Months of Sonographer experience required (Acute care experience is not required)
· Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days
· Certificate, or Associate Degree in Diagnostic Ultrasound
· ARDMS registry or ARRT (S)
· Registered Vascular Specialist, or Vascular Sonography, or Registered Vascular Technician (RVT) must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
