Sr Director, Adult Acute Care – Sign-On Bonus!

The Senior Director of Adult Acute Care provides strategic, operational, and clinical leadership for Adult Acute Services, ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission, values, and strategic priorities. This role is responsible for driving clinical excellence, financial stewardship, operational efficiency, and workforce development while fostering collaboration and innovation across service lines.
Strategic & Operational Leadership
- Lead the Adult Acute Services division with a clear vision aligned with the organization’s mission, values, and strategic goals.
- Drive performance in clinical quality, patient safety, financial outcomes, and workforce development.
- Spearhead new initiatives to improve patient outcomes, enhance patient and family experiences, and optimize clinical operations.
- Collaborate with senior leaders across departments to foster a cohesive, collaborative, and high-performing environment.
Financial Oversight
- Manage budgets, staffing models, and resource allocation to ensure cost-effective operations.
- Utilize data-driven insights to improve financial performance, justify strategic investments, and measure the effectiveness of key initiatives.
- Develop business plans and resource justifications based on patient volume trends and organizational priorities.
Clinical and Administrative Excellence
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and shared accountability.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, safety protocols, and quality benchmarks.
- Champion evidence-based practices and promote data-informed decision-making.
- Support clinical excellence through coaching, mentorship, and staff recognition programs.
Team & Talent Development
- Build and sustain a high-performing, inclusive, and mission-aligned team culture.
- Lead strategies for recruitment, retention, succession planning, and leadership development.
- Identify professional growth opportunities and cultivate emerging leaders within the team.
- Ensure staff are equipped with the necessary tools, resources, and training for success.
Organizational Influence
- Serve as a key nursing executive liaison on internal and external committees, initiatives, and partnerships.
- Collaborate across the enterprise to advance shared goals, navigate organizational change, and lead innovations in care delivery.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with clinical and operational partners to ensure consistency and alignment across departments.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required; a Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or Business, highly preferred.
- Must hold an active RN license in Montana or an eligible compact state, required.
- Professional certifications in nursing leadership, patient safety, or quality improvement, highly preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of progressive leadership experience in nursing is required, 5+ years strongly preferred.
- Experience leading inpatient acute care operations or a nursing service line, highly preferred.
- Proven ability to achieve results through collaboration, innovation, and the development of high-performing teams.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to excel in dynamic, fast-paced, and high-pressure settings.
- Strategic mindset paired with hands-on leadership capabilities.
