Registered Nurse – Free-Standing Emergency Room (FSED)
Location: Lake Jackson, Tallahassee, FL
Shifts Available: Days, Nights, and Mids
Job Type: Full Time
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and adaptable Emergency Room RN to join the team at a Free-Standing Emergency Department. This role is ideal for a nurse who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is confident in their clinical decision-making, multitasking, and critical thinking skills. You will care for patients of all ages with conditions ranging from minor injuries to acute or critical emergencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Triage, assess, and provide care for patients of all age groups
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and medical assessments
- Coordinate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure timely, effective care
- Educate patients and families on follow-up care and discharge instructions
- Prioritize and manage multiple cases simultaneously in a high-acuity setting
- Participate in patient safety and quality improvement initiatives
- Maintain clear, accurate documentation of patient care and treatment outcomes
Qualifications:
- Required: Minimum of 1 year of recent Emergency Room nursing experience in an acute care setting
- Licensure: Active Florida RN license or multi-state compact license (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required; BSN preferred
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – required before start date
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – within 90 days of hire
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – within 90 days of hire
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention – within 90 days of hire
