Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) – Outpatient Orthopedics
Location: Aubrey, TX
Employment Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
Setting: Outpatient Orthopedic Clinic
Job Responsibilities:
- Carry out individualized treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist, focused on orthopedic conditions (e.g., post-op rehab, sports injuries, joint dysfunction)
- Lead patients through therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and functional training
- Observe, measure, and document patient progress, reporting updates to the supervising PT
- Assist with patient education on injury prevention, posture, body mechanics, and home exercise programs
- Set up and maintain therapeutic equipment, ensuring safety and cleanliness of treatment areas
- Support a high-quality, patient-centered care experience with strong communication and encouragement
- Collaborate with the clinical team to promote consistent, evidence-based care delivery
- Ensure documentation is accurate, timely, and compliant with clinic, state, and federal standards
Qualifications:
- Associate Degree from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Active Texas PTA license
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Familiarity with orthopedic protocols and post-surgical rehab procedures
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to motivate patients
- Prior experience in outpatient orthopedics preferred, but new grads with strong clinical rotations welcome
