Job Title: Hospice Associate Medical Director

About the Role:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Hospice Associate Medical Director to play a vital leadership role in advancing our mission of providing exceptional, patient-centered end-of-life care. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead clinical excellence in hospice care while ensuring dignity, comfort, and quality of life for patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide eligibility assessments, certifications, and recertifications for hospice patients, including Face-to-Face (F2F) visits.
- Review and certify patients’ medical eligibility in compliance with Medicare/Medicaid regulations.
- Offer oversight of physician services for the hospice program.
- Approve patient admission orders and ensure compliance with hospice policies.
- Collaborate with attending physicians regarding pain and symptom management.
- Provide medical consultation to the interdisciplinary team (IDT).
- Participate in or chair Medical Advisory Committee meetings.
- Review and sign admission documents and care plans within regulatory timeframes.
- Make home visits when needed and write appropriate orders.
- Ensure patient dignity, rights, and comfort are prioritized in all care decisions.
- Complete documentation timely and accurately.
Qualifications:
- MD or DO degree with valid, unrestricted medical license and prescriptive authority in the state of practice.
- Minimum 1 year of hospice or palliative care experience.
- Board certification in hospice & palliative medicine highly preferred.
- Experience in medical leadership or clinical supervision desirable.
- Strong understanding of hospice regulations, Medicare standards, and compliance.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills with healthcare teams, patients, and families.
- Passion for compassionate end-of-life care and commitment to hospice philosophy.
