Rome Health Hospital, a trusted healthcare provider in Central New York, is seeking a full-time Hospitalist (MD or DO) to join a well-supported inpatient team. This is a rewarding opportunity to practice in a community-focused setting with a manageable patient load and excellent sub-specialty support.
Job Description:
- As a Hospitalist, your responsibilities will include:
- Provide inpatient care in a 7 on / 7 off schedule (7 AM – 7 PM)
- Make daily rounds on assigned patients (average 12–15 per physician)
- Admit patients and manage rapid responses/codes
- Collaborate with intensivists in an open ICU setting with 24/7 consultation available
- Conduct patient assessments, histories, physicals, and documentation using Paragon EMR
- Coordinate with attending physicians, specialists, and hospital staff to ensure high-quality care
- Participate in a hospitalist team managing 40–50 patients per day collectively
- No on-call duties
- Work in a non-trauma designated hospital with strong infrastructure.
- BE accepted if a new graduate
- Must be Board Certified within 2 years of contract start
- Not accepting Locums candidates
- Not accepting Visa Candidates
- 1099 candidates NOT accepted
Compensation and Benefits:

- Truly Board Eligible (within 1 year of eligibility and must be Board Certified within 2 years) or Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine – [REQUIRED]
- New York medical license or willingness to obtain – [REQUIRED]
- Clean malpractice and license history – [REQUIRED]
- DEA, BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications – [REQUIRED]
- Does provider require visa support? – [REQUIRED]
- Must be open to full-time, 7 on/7 off schedule – [REQUIRED]
- Must be comfortable working in an open ICU with intensivist support – [REQUIRED]
